Park Place Church of God welcomes Dr. Al Condeluci Saturday, November 9, 2019 from 9am - 12pm for a Social Capital and Community Building training. "Social Capital is a term that summarizes the value (tangible and intangible) of relationship in our lives...many people with disabilities are limited in social capital and remain isolated..." (Social Capital: The Key to Macro Change). For the past 40 years, researchers have been exploring the power and potency of social capital. This interactive training looks closely at research on social capital and identifies ways and means to building more viable relationships in our lives.

If you are an educator, human services professional, church ministry, family member related to a person with disabilities, this training will provide education and tools for moving forward together. This is an opportunity to discover strategies and actions to cultivate stronger community and connectedness through inclusivity, identifying passions, matching interests, and evaluation.

Dr. Condeluci has been a leader in human services and disability advocacy work for the past 45 years. Holding a PhD and MSW from the University of Pittsburgh, Dr. Condeluci was the CEO of CLASS (Community Living and Support Services) a major nonprofit organization in Pittsburgh,  PA since 1973. He holds faculty status at the University of Pittsburgh in the Schools of Social Work, and Health, Rehab Sciences. He is an author of seven books including the acclaimed, Interdependence: The Route to Community (1995) and more recently, Social Capital: The Key to Macro Change (2014). He serves on a number of nonprofit boards and government commissions on state, local and national levels. He helped found, and convenes the Interdependence Network, an international coalition of professionals, family members, and consumers interested in community engagement and macro change.
