Welcome to this site that represents the people and ministries of Park Place Church of God! Park Place is a congregation rich in heritage, vibrant in spirituality, active in service, and alive to God's call to a future of "mentoring leaders to serve a global Church.
Our heritage extends to the early days of the arrival of the "Gospel Trumpet family" in Anderson IN in 1906. These earnest believers shared their possessions in common and gave sacrificially of themselves to spread the good new of Jesus Christ to the ends of the earth. That same quality of deep care lives in our midst at Park Place today. Often persons find a circle of care surrounding them as they participate in the church's various small groups, Sunday School classes, and fellowship circles. A friend that visits our city frequently declares, "When I want to be hugged, I go to Park Place."
When I was a college student at Anderson University in the 1970's, my life was changed by a small group offered to students by the Park Place youth pastor. This group aimed at fostering positive experiences in relationships. The affirmations of my peers in that circle transformed my view of the future. Mine is only one of literally thousands of lives changed and blessed in Anderson/Madison County by the servant ministries of Park Place Church across its history. The congregation has been noted for its vital role in spearheading caring ministries that meet Anderson's people at their point of greatest need. Now, it is our sense that God is calling us afresh to whole gospel ministry that address the needs of our community as we enter the twenty-first century.
Our unique relationships with both Anderson University and the wider Church of God movement has afforded this congregation unusual opportunities to touch the world with the good news of Jesus Christ. The sun never sets on all the person mentored by Park Place Church to love, serve, and lead the global church. Currently, we are seeking to think strategically and act intentionally to fulfill the wonderful opportunity to "mentor leaders to serve a global church." We anticipate that God has an exciting future ahead for us as we seek to faithfully fulfill His vision for us.
